Session Description

Thorough incident investigation is critical to ensure regulatory compliance, mitigate legal risks and most of all, prioritize resident well-being. This session will equip leaders with a framework for conducting comprehensive inquiries. Attendees with learn best practices for fact-finding, root cause analysis, and developing effective prevention strategies. Gain the skills to transform incident response into a pro-active, resident-centric process that safeguards the residents in your community. 

 

Learning Objectives:

 

  1. Review regulations surrounding incident investigations and common gaps in practice leading to citations.
  2. Discuss the importance of creating a culture of resident safety and a positive environment for reporting.
  3. Understand the necessary steps in an investigation and the value in applying a root cause analysis approach.
  4. Discuss design of your QI efforts to support effective data tracking, analysis and actions.
