2025 LeadingVoice Advocacy Bootcamp

The goal of this bootcamp is to empower grassroots advocates for aging services in Kansas. The training is available to any individual in an aging services role or educational program who is interested in enhancing their advocacy skills. This training is for current and new advocates alike. Trainees will learn the fundamentals of advocacy, participate in leadership and team building exercises, practice policy analysis, community organizing, and public relations, hear from guest speakers, and more. 

Three sessions will take place in November, December, and January. The first two sessions will be two days worth of classroom learning and various activities. the third session will allow individuals to put their newly acquired or finely tuned advocacy skills to practice at Aging Services Day at the Kansas capitol.

In-Person Training Sessions (LeadingAge Kansas Office, Topeka):

1. November 11, 2025: 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM (Lunch & Dinner Provided)
2. November 12, 2025: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM (Lunch Provided)
3. December 9, 2025: 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM (Lunch & Dinner Provided)
4. December 10, 2025: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM (Lunch Provided)

Aging Services Day at Kansas State Capitol (Location TBD, Topeka):

1. January 21, 2026: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Lunch Provided

 Who Should Attend

The program is designed for anyone at any level to attend. Students, entry-level employees, supervisors, administrators, clinical, non-clinical, and board members who are passionate about aging services are invited to attend. Space is limited to 15 individuals.

Registration Fees

Registration fees only cover the cost of food, drinks, and required materials. Costs for hotels and transportation are not included. Register on the LeadingAge Kansas website.
