Chemical Dependency
Issues in LTC
This session will provide the participants wit
h knowledge and guidance for long term care staff members who care for resi
dents with a history of or current substance abuse. As an industry we know
that substance use and abuse is an issue but we rarely discuss it or assess
it in post-acute care. In the future we anticipate even more chemical depe
ndency issues in long term care residents so it is important we identify th
em and put interventions in place to help the affected residents. Objectives:

Dealing with Difficult Behaviors
