e BKD Implementation Checklist. It is also time to reach out to your partne
r organizations to see how they are preparing and their timeline for implem

Roundtables, February 20th - Topeka, Kansas at LeadingAge Ka
nsas from 1 - 4 PM & February 21st - Wichita, KS at Presbyterian Manors
of Mid-America from 9 - 12 PM
Join LeadingAge
Kansas and BKD’s Sherri Robbins, RN, BSN, CLNC, RAC-CT, LNHA and John Harne
d, CPA, LNHA to discuss practical implementation processes for PDPM at the
first set of roundtables with PDPM. We encourage you to bring your impleme
ntation committee (up to five individuals from each organization) in order
to gain the most value from this experience. The learning style will be a f
acilitated discussion of best practices for each area of focus on your impl
ementation committee. For example, ICD-10, MDS, Therapy, Nursing, Education
and Technology will be grouped together by area of specialty, in a typical
roundtable format, to maximize the group learning dynamic. T
his will be a great opportunity to discuss whatever you are needing most at
this time.
PDPM Video Checkpoint, March 11,
2019 in the Aging Update
“With less than six months until you go live
with PDPM, the focus is what needs to be completed this quarter. A complete
knowledge of how the MDS will impact reimbursement as well as a working kn
owledge of diagnosis coding and how they crosswalk to reimbursement is crit
ical. You should also be narrowing down who your technology partners will b
e for this transition. At this phase it will be important to know your nurs
ing staff have a plan to address ICD-10 coding for the primary diagnosis. C
ontinue your dialogue with your therapy company.”

you formulate and organize your questions for the Q&A Call.
“W
ith four months until your go live date for PDPM, training on nursing docum
entation should begin as well as streamlining communication between therapy
, nursing and MDS. Now is the perfect time to begin practicing for PDPM wit
h Medicare Managed Care Patients. Your triple check process will need to un
dergo revision and this is the phase at which you should be placing these s
ystems in place.”

PDPM Roundtables, <
span>July 17, 2019 - Salina Public Library: McKenzie Classroom 2, 12:30 - 4
:30 PM & July 18, 2019 - Wichita Public Library - Evergreen Branch: Par
kview Room A, 12:30 - 4:30 PM
The July roundtables will keep th
e same format with open discussion, group activities and Q&A. But this
will be a deeper dive into what’s to come with therapy, nursing and MDS reg
arding documentation and communication. Together with the support of Leadin
gAge Kansas, BKD, colleagues and other providers as the date PDPM goes into
effect grows closer you will need to work on really building your knowledg
e and skills. This roundtable is exactly the place to do that.
We would like t
o wait as we see the rulings come out to provide an accurate description fo
r this webinar. Our goal is to build upon the education we have already giv
en you and without the rulings we cannot properly do so. The final educatio
n of PDPM Academy is crucial, but what is most important is that you begin
to actively work on this transition with your team and organization as soon
as possible. You will only be successful if you are active in your efforts
to be educated and working on an implementation plan for PDPM.
Please utilize the video checkpoint description above and video from Septe
mber 10th to help you formulate and organize your questions for the Q&A
