Debra Harmon Zehr, RN, MA serves as President and CEO of the association. She earned her Nursing degree at Southeast Missouri State University and a master’s degree from Governors State University.  She leads the overall affairs of the association, works closely with the Board of Directors and staff leadership team. Debra is responsible for the implementation of the strategic plan, oversight of financial resources, and of course, inspiring and leading the team. Additionally, she’s the primary spokesperson for the association, the association’s liaison to LeadingAge National, and serves as the Executive Director of LeadingAge Kansas Employee Benefits, Inc, the association health plan. She serves on the Board of Value First, the Group Purchasing Program owned by LeadingAge national and its’ state affiliates. She finds that helping the association’s members make a difference in the lives of the people they serve and being part of an organization that is not content simply preserving the status quo, are her favorite parts of her job. Kevin McFarland is the President and CEO of KING – the group-funded workers’ compensation program for members of LeadingAge Kansas. Kevin earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work at Kansas State University and is licensed as a Social Worker, Property & Casualty Insurance, and Health & Life Insurance He is a member of the Management Team, Finance Team and advise the EBI Board and Service Team. Kevin’s favorite part of his job is working with a team of dedicated individuals for members. Kevin believes it is a “privilege to work for our members as they fulfill their mission of service to their residents, employees, and community”.  Outside of work, Kevin enjoys playing golf, rooting for the Chiefs and Kansas State, and cooking.  You can reach Kevin at 785.233.7443 ext. 110.



Dana Weaver, MA, is the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director of the Foundation. She leads the association’s programs and services team which includes membership, education, business development, internal operations, technology, communications, and leadership. She is a former member nursing home administrator. She graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a secondary major in gerontology and long-term healthcare and received a master’s degree in nonprofit administration from MidAmerica Nazarene University. Dana’s favorite part of the work she does is connecting with members and finding new ways to solve their problems and lifting them up as leaders in the field. Rachel Monger, JD, LACHA is the Chief Advocacy Officer and leads the association in legislative and regulatory advocacy, education, and policy development. Her favorite part of working at LeadingAge Kansas is sharing with policy makers and the rest of the world all the amazing work of our members. Rachel received a bachelor's degree at Bard College at Simon's Rock in Massachusetts and her Juris Doctorate at the University of Kansas School of Law. When asked why she works at LeadingAge Kansas, Rachel replied, “I believe strongly in the mission of LeadingAge Kansas, and I am humbled every day knowing so many truly special people allow me to be their voice in Topeka and beyond.”. Tina Andres is the Director of Administrative Operations and has been employed with LeadingAge Kansas since 2001. During this time, she has been involved with all facets of the association, including the scholarship and awards program, accounting, and administrative support. Her current focus is managing the accounting/HR aspects of the association, including LeadingAge Kansas, EBI, Foundation and KING. She is a team player and assists others in any way that she can. Tina attended Kansas State University and Platt Business College. Tina works at the association because of the personal experience she had with her own aging parents which gave her a distinct perspective on how valuable LeadingAge Kansas members serve elders. She feels fortunate to work for an association that has a passion for the elders. Tina’s outside hobbies include spending time with family and going on vacations. Nicole Schings is the Director of Business Development and Online Education. She oversees the Partnership/Sponsorship program, recruitment and retention of the association’s associate members as well as coordinating all aspects of online education. Nicole graduated from Washburn University and is a Platinum Geocacher. Her favorite thing about working at the association is to bring new partners in to help us better serve members. Along with her geocaching hobby, Nicole enjoys spending time with her dog, Blu. Her favorite part of working at LeadingAge Kansas is that the people are cool and she enjoys getting to know the members and helping them solve problems. Stephanie Gfeller, MS, LACHA is the Director of Special Projects and coordinates grant activities, manages the scholarship program, serves on the Center for Leadership design team, and assists with other special trainings/projects to support the priorities of association and foundation. Stephanie graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor and Master of Science. She loves working at LeadingAge Kansas due to the endless opportunities for her to watch people learn, grow and gain confidence in themselves as professionals. She has always been weirdly excited about nursing homes, interested in human aging and passionate helping those who work in long-term care grow and succeed so LeadingAge Kansas is a perfect fit.  It allows Stephanie to use her knowledge, skills, and strengths to provide resources, training, and support for long-term care professionals so they can provide high quality services and support aging Kansans. When not helping others grow in the association, you can find her driving the mom shuttle for her two kids to 4-H, sports, school, theatre or whatever else they are in.  Ann Castro is the Group Purchasing Advisor for Kansas. Ann has been with Value First for two years and is currently responsible for LeadingAge Texas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and LeadingAge Gulf States.
