LeadingAge Kansas Benefits of Membership with sunflowers

Benefit of Membership: Advocacy & Government Regulations

Regulatory Hotline

Members have the ability to contact our Government Affairs team to get timely answers on federal and state regulatory issues.

LeadingVoice: Advocacy Bootcamp

Housed within the LeadingAge Kansas Center for Leadership, LeadingVoice Advocacy Bootcamp was developed to empower grassroots advocates for aging services in Kansas. The in-person training is offered bi-annually and is available to any individual in an aging services role or educational program and interested in enhancing their advocacy skills. The program is open to current and new advocates alike!

Legislative Lunches/ Coffee Chats

Members have the ability to attend either a regional legislative lunch or coffee chat at least once a year. This is a great opportunity to meet with legislators, and candidates if it's an election year, to share successes and challenges impacting members organizations. This is one of the many ways LeadingAge Kansas works to build our grassroots advocacy efforts.

Aging Services Day at the Capitol

LeadingAge Kansas partners with the Kansas Healthcare Association/Kansas Center for Assisted Living (KHCA/KCAL) and the Kansas Adult Care Executives (KACE) to host a joint legislative day for the full continuum of aging services providers. The mornings are full of education and briefings on how to have effective conversations with your legislators and ask them to support our issues, and the afternoon is filled with opportunities to view hearings and attend meetings with legislators.
