COVID-19 SAFETY FOR CNAS TRAINING SERIES

Covid-19 Safety for CNAs is a five series training designed to equip (or refresh) CNAs (and other caregivers) with the knowledge needed to be safe during COVID-19, help them develop skills to properly protect themselves (and others) and help them gain confidence in their ability to recognize safety concerns and advocate for safety during the pandemic.

Those completing the training series will gain a strong understanding of the role their actions play in their own safety and the safety of others in the organization.  The training includes topics that align with COVID survey and OSHA training topics including hand hygiene, PPE selection and use, infection control precautions, etc.

There are two ways you can share the learning with your team: 

Option 1: 

• NO COST, on-demand video training can be accessed by anyone in your organization not just CNA staff. Those who successfully complete the full series, will receive an electronic certificate of completion.
  • Each trainee will need to provide an e-mail address when registering for the training series.
  • Administrators, operators, nurses, and dieticians holding Kansas licenses can also earn CEU credits upon successful completion of the training series. To receive CE credits upon successful completion of the training, contact Nicole Schings.
  • Those outside of Kansas may be able to self-apply for CE credits with the appropriate credentialing body in your state.

 Option 2:

• Use the full training materials package at NO COST to conduct your own training. All materials that were developed for use during our training session are available for you to use with your team.
• This includes slide presentations with speakers notes, pre/posttest documents, video links, activity instructions, handouts and more.
• Materials can be used to conduct the full training or individual sessions or topics within sessions can be used for in-service trainings or other refresher trainings.
